Lovely dark bay with beautiful kind face, just like his nature!
Handled daily by 10yr old girl. Stands to be groomed, bathed, good for farrier and vet.
Hacks alone and in company on busy main roads, lanes, forest and open fields, travels well, happy in stable alone or in field if he can see others.
We haven’t done lots of schooling (down to me not enjoying it) but he is capable as you can see from the photos. He will happily pop a fence in the school and a log out hacking.
He attended Frampton fun ride 10th October 2021, it was his riders first fun ride. He was very well behaved, I was able to jump my horse whilst he came along side, he rides in just a snaffle.
He will come with tack which is an Albion GP saddle, this has been professionally fitted to him, a new PE anatomical bridle and an Equitex saddle pad. All of these items work really well for him and I know he’s happy in them.
He has been with us for 15 months, was bought for my daughter, but as his condition has improved with work we have realised she is unfortunately not heavy enough or strong enough for him. He came off the track at 3yrs to a gentleman who had him for 9 years and did a bit of everything, he then had a year with a lady where he didn’t do very much and got fat!
His down sides are pretty simple:
He doesn’t like metal in his mouth so our dentist doesn’t use power tools and takes her time.
He likes to be in front when you start off in canter, otherwise he will put in an excited buck.
Occasionally in canter he will give a little hump, for a capable rider who can pull his head up this is not a problem.
This last point is why we have decided he is not the right horse for my daughter, she just isn’t heavy or strong enough to lift him back up.
