Tipsy Laird has many endearing qualities including his kindness and affection, his attention for his human, his braveness despite his age, not to mention his handsome features.
He is a delight to work with, I have done a lot of liberty and some working equitation and he has proven to be very trainable and not fazed by poles or fillers. His liberty is fab! I have lots of vids.
He is a real chunky thoroughbred with thick legs, correct and a head turner.
He has been ridden in both western and English tack and doesn’t mind either.
Tipsy is happy on a small yard or a busy livery and really loves to be part of the herd. He catches great and is happy in or out however I try to keep them out as much as possible.
Tipsy hacks out alone in all kinds of traffic, farm machinery, RAF jets fly over our yard and he is just super.
He can be a buckle end ride but also has a gorgeous powerful trot it you want to push him on.
In company he will go first or last. I’m certain he would love hunting and pleasure rides.
I wouldn’t want him to go to an immediate competitive eventing home or pure SJ/BD home - clinics camps and lessons would be the starting point as he has been re-started carefully and patiently with him being a bigger horse only young coming off the track.
He had a year out after racing twice (too slow however willing) I then did 3 months of groundwork and then introduced hacking and some light schooling. He then had winter off as all mine did and has come back into hacking fantastically from February...he is already looking really well as he is a very good doer.
He deserves the best and will make someone a special best friend.
This lovely horse is an uncomplicated ride, however green in the school. He does not buck, bronk, rear, bolt etc and has breaks.
Good feet and shod on the front every 7 weeks (if there are a lot of roads a new owner may consider backs).
Exceptional to lead and great for the vet/farrier/dentist/winkie washer etc
Will be sad to see him go but I want him to be someone’s number one. If time is invested in this horse he will make someone very lucky indeed!
