Absolutely gutted to have to do this, but I know it’s the right thing.
Framley Garth, known at home as Framley, has been with me for 20 months.
He was previously with a teenager, where he did clinics and started jumping. However, I felt he carried a lot of stress when I got him and so I’ve taken things super slowly and spent time teaching groundwork, standing still at mounting block, working a lot on slowing everything down and being more relaxed about life.
He loves to play at liberty, enjoys obstacles and groundwork and although he hasn’t done much jumping with me, he is so willing and enjoys it (jumping vid available if you message). He never says no.
Hacking, he prefers company, but with regular hacking he would soon have more confidence.
I have him on a very quiet yard in north east Scotland and have nobody to ride with, which has proved difficult for me to build up hacking confidence.
I feel he would benefit from a yard with other horses and people to ride with, and with someone that can give him more consistency. With consistency, he’d come on loads. I have three horses and sadly health issues and I just have to face facts that I can’t give him that.
I can hop on him in the arena after not riding for a couple of weeks and he’s cool, but I just know he deserves to be someone’s special one. He’d thrive doing more and with a confident jockey and consistency he would be a wonderful fun horse.
He did take time to settle when he came to me, but I hope that after the stress free 18months he’s had, he would be better to settle.
He lives out (mixed herd) with me so he’s pretty fluffy right now.
He does crib around feed time.
He has 2 sarcoids which don’t effect him.
He’s really ready to do more as spring comes but sadly I have broken hand right now so I’m only able to do a little groundwork and hacking.
Home is more important than anything. I think he’d love to be busy doing lots - whatever that may be.
Please do ask me all the questions you like. Lots of pics / videos available.
I keep changing my mind as it’s such a tough decision but I know his special someone is out there.
